The Mediterranean Games 2005 comes to Almeria!
Countries from throughout the Mediterranean sea are coming to the city of Almeria, including Arab, African and European participants. Together with the Olympics, the Mediterranean Games is one of the most important sporting events that Spain are able to participate in, and features sportspeople from 21 different nations in 24 different sports. The official symbol of the games involves three circles, which represent the three continents involved in the games.
For the beautiful area of Almeria, the XV Mediterranean games means that the city will have numerous sporting venues contructed, with a 15,000 - 25,000 seater stadium, a running track and a youth sports hall aswell as some of the other sporting venues being re-modelled. There are also plans for a Swimming complex in Las Almadrabillas and a centre of tenchnical training. The Almeria Sailing Club, the Tennis club and the equestrian club will also play a large role in those events during the actual games.
